Donald...........You'll be close in my thoughts during this period of operations, tests, etc.......... Pretty slick medical things are done now that boggle the mind......... Get the procedures behind you & you'll be good for another couple decades....... Good luck from your buddy in Western NY......

I was blessed to find this sight over a year ago while recovering from surgery myself. It kept me occupied while I could not get on the tractor by watching the videos and reading all the advice. By the time the doctor released me I was ready to go with all the new stuff I had read. Smoking is a tough thing to give up, been 3 months myself without one after a 40 year habit. I have gained about 10 lbs. so far and think I feel worse with the weight gain. I hope the weight gain is temporary and hope to make it this time. Mr. Donald, you hang in there and get well cause this ol boy needs you and your videos for continued advice. Will be praying for you and your family during this period.

Back home now, everything went well.  They said it was just too many blockages to put stents so it looks like it’s going to be a triple bypass soon.  Thanks everyone for the prayers and good wishes.

Hey Donald, praying for you. I too had triple bypass three years ago July. I'm turning 50 this winter so I understand. It will be a tough few days then things get much better. That's the reason I got on this site in the first place. I had to sit and the CPU and this site were the only gardening I could deal with. I did find that I was much better after the operation. Keep us informed how your doing.

Donald, thinking about you and wish you good luck... Any idea yet of who you are going to have do your bypass? Let me know and i will try to make a couple calls. One guy I know in Alexandria (the perfusionist anyway) is Doc Phiroz. ot a real doctor- that is the name he goes by.. He is pretty good and I would trust him to do me...He was one of my instructors.

I’ll find out tomorrow who and when.  It will be a doctor in Lafayette.  I like the folks from down that way.  I did have one old, mean, little nurse yesterday in Opelousas but she made me laugh.  I think she was just pretending to be mean.

  Hey Donald,
Well I have just found this site kind of by accident by stumbling upon 1 of your videos on you-tube. I watched a couple more and checked the site. I Just joined 2 days ago and have been over here daily posting/reading and enjoying it very much. Today I saw this thread and just wanted to say hello to you. Then I find your not feeling well...I am sorry to hear of your illness.
If it helps I wanted you to know..I helped my Father through a quad by-pass. It changed his life for the better. It is obvious to me you have been an inspiration and a mentor to quite a few people. I am praying for you sir to make a full and speedy recovery. You have a legion of fans (including a newbee like me) who look forward to seeing you back. GOD BLESS and GET WELL SOON !!!!

Donald, after a quintuple bypass operation in july 2010,(heredity, and I've out lived many of my  male kin) I was out of service for 2.5 monthes befre returning to work. Recovery is up to you.  Surgery on wed. out on monday, tuesday morn it took me 10 minutes to walk the 125 yds to the mailbox and back,(baby steps at first), but a few more each day, set your  goals each day and move towards them( AND USE THE PILLOW THEY GIVE YA!) if God did'nt want you here,He wouldn't have given you this opportunity to continue your life, and be of such a help to all of the followers of this website. We are all in God's Hands.Suck it up,walk it off, and know we appreciate you.Been there, done that and at your service if you ever need help getting through this, just E-mail me.
Thanks and prayers,

Donald,
It will be 20 years ago on March 27, 2013 that I had my triple by-pass at Lourde's in Lafayette.  Lafayette has some of the best heart surgeons found anywhere.  Although you will be in good hands, I will have you in my prayers, that this little procedure will keep you going for the next twenty or so years, like it has done for me.

God Bless

Donald, like Savagejoerude I found your site after watching a bunch of your youtube videos. While I don't really "know" you I could tell you were a nice guy, the kind of person you'd choose as a neighbor if you could. After spending days reading the forums I can see how many people feel the same way about you. I wish you the best and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

As for the recovery the only advice I can give is push yourself a little more each day but don't push too hard, it will take time and it can't be rushed. Don't worry, we'll wait for you to get back to making videos.  Smiley

Thanks to Bob and others who brought this thread up. I've been out of town for a while, so I missed it entirely.
Donald, I certainly wish you the best on these procedures. Seems like they get more complicated each time we go through them. You've got very many folks in your corner on this and we're praying for you and your family. God speed. Larry  Smiley
