Happy Sunday morning......... I have a question about how to share home videos taken with my Canon cameras, namely a T1-i or 7D DSLR's, or a S-95 P&S...... I shot a couple little videos ( never shot video b-4 ) of our new puppy and then uploaded them into the Canon Zoom Browser program...... I then ran them through the export steps in Zoom Browser & afterwards I still had a file size that was big enuf to choke a horse......... So my Wife, bless her heart, sez put it in a Zip file........ So, I read up on how to do that & I create a zip file....... I move one of my little flicks into the zip file & it is still humongous ( 353 MB )....

So what is a simple way to send my little puppy videos to my Daughter who lives 140 miles away........

Thanks in advance for your help,
Brent

Something that large should be burned to CD/DVD and mailed to her! That's too big to upload/download IMHO! I'm sure that there are alternate methods of doing this, but I think my way would be more efficient.

BTW: This is what I do for a living....  Grin

Maybe someone else has a better way... I AM getting old!  Undecided

Good Luck!

Putting them on DVD is one way of doing it that would work just fine.

I find the easiest way to share video is on YouTube.  I edit my footage using Adobe Premiere Elements (low cost alternative to the full blown Premiere program) then upload to YouTube using the program.  It has an option just for that.

I’m sure there are other programs that are much better than Premiere Elements but I find it does what I need it to and won’t break the bank.

Put them on a ram drive and mail them or on a CD as curtis suggested. But anyone can put them on a ramdrive even without a CD/DVD burner. A CD will hold about 740 megabytes, a DVD will hold about 4 and half gigabytes. But you can by a 4 gig ram drive for 6-8 dollars mail it with your videos and she can mail it back with hers. Win Win

Thanks for the replies Fellows............. I will likely try all that you have suggested....... Different fixes for different needs........I appreciate the info.......... When I get things cookin' with the cinematography, I'll have to post some flicks here on the Site............ Just think about all the fame Reile Hunter has achieved by being a video-photographer....Simply amazing what a talent can do for you......This might be a new start in life for me!!
