Newbie here.. This a great place to learn! I am a hobby farmer/gardner with a small vegtable garden for me and my family to enjoy. I feed out steers and meat chickens for our own meat, Also have had but not currently laying hens (I do mis em). I am currently building a 10 x 16 hoop green house. I will try to load pics so you can see and give me advise (this is my first). My day job to suport my hobbies and family is the owner of a Plumbing and Heating shop specializing in Geothermal Heating. I am married and have 3 children (all teenagers) My family and I are involved in our church and feel there is nothing more inportant than a personal relationship with our Savior. Thanks Brian

Welcome Brian ! So it looks like you're gonna assemble it inside, then carry it outside? Or perhaps even put rollers on it? Thats been done too. Either way, nice job so far. Bobby

Welcome to the forum Brian.... I have been gardening with my family for over 40 years... Ever since I was old enough to carry a hoe... and learn new things on here all the time.
Dog PS... you can let us know your growing zone by adding it to the bottom of all your posts like mine. It is under the profile button. Sometimes it helps when you have a question for the folks on here to know what zone you are in. Don't have to put your town just your zone.... Also, any other info you would like to share.

So tomorrow i going to work on installing the exaust fan on the back end of my gh. I have a few questions. do i need to install the blower up high or down low or does it matter? Also how much CFM do I need for a 10 x 16 hoop gh? I have couple of options. I can install a furnace blower fan that would have about 1000 - 1200 cfm or i also have a 8" round duct bost that would mave probly 200 cfm. or maybe i need somthing altogather different.
Thanks Brian
Sure do like this forum!

Bobby, Thanks, I feel a little emberased about askin the question about the location of the fan being im in the heat & air bus, but I just thought maybe since i would probably be moving air around the inside of the gh with a circulation fan it might not matter. Thanks for the advise Brian

I figure it takes REAL Brains just to ASK the Right Questions! Brian, I see we live in the same general area, zone wise. I'm interested in your project outcome because I don't have a Green House yet. Size wise, your closer to what i think i need & probably afford. Word is(on this forum) that the small the green house the more the inside TEMP can spike quickly once the air starts to heat up. So I'd like to see how that works for you. Best of Luck, Husker Wagon

Thats pretty cool Brian. Build it inside, then take it outdoors. Looks like a homemade blower setup, interesting. With cooler temps the plastic will shrink and become fairly tight. Shouldn't be a problem. But watch the blower pressure, too much will stretch the plastic, especially on warm days. If you have the 2 layers sealed nice and tight, it takes very little blower help to maintain the desired inflation.
On my new GH, that is much bigger than the first one, I have the side plate open about 3/8 inch, and the plastic inflated quickly and holds nice and tight. On the smaller GH, where I don't have as good a seal, I have the inlet open about a full inch or so. It takes more air because of the leaks. So how well the plastic is sealed has a lot to do with how much blower help you need.
