Author Topic: How long can you leave Carrots in the ground?  (Read 1168 times)

Planted some carrots and we have not dug them all up and I still have a ton of them...so how long into the winter can you leave them and them still be good?

I don't think this applies to you but I can leave mine in and dig up( even when there is 3.5 ft of snow) all winter and into the spring until they to start growing again and then they get starchy and not so good.

If i waited till then i would need a jackhammer to get'em up. Cheesy

Minnesota  "Land of 10,000 Lakes"   Zone  3/4   1- Hoe   1 - 18"  Poulan pro  reartine tiller  1- Small 12" tiller (for weeds) and 1 hoe  total garden rasberry's and pumpkin patch is about 50x80 or so.

yeah see where I am we jut out into lake superior so have LOTS of snow and are at the bottom of a valley and the ground really doesn't freeze at least not in our yard Cheesy
